Endymion

The dawn is encroaching
on my night-time reverie
A touch of summer in the warm, stale air
not a longing for colder days
But a desire for longer nights
Darkness does not equal evil
it is serene, tranquil, mysterious and beautiful

Watching the world though glass windows
as it sleeps peacefully in the silvery light
of a full moon with its court of stars
It is a time for thought and wondering
letting the mind wander as it does
when left to its own schemes

The truth is out there
clad in silver and her name is Selene
If there are answers to my questions
she will know but not be aware
The answers, I imagine, will be
our joint discovery

Apollo is coming our way
And our clothes of silvery moonlight
sown with threads of starlight and clarity
Fade, to transparency
Naked we wake to the new day with the sun bright in our eyes
But with memories of starlight
in our hearts

So sing my soul since my voice cannot
and speak my eyes when my lips are sealed
dance my heart, to the rhythm
of truth revealed
