Sun and Moon

Whence came fear of the setting sun?
I will never understand it.
Blistering heat and harsh light,
A blight for both skin and mind.
There are those of us in possession,
Of an affinity for cold,
We hold the night in reverence,
And the dark of night favours the bold.
As daylight dies there are those who fear,
That they’ll die with it.
Silver-glow luminescent blue,
We are children of the moon.
She comes and goes,
Battling the dark,
Death and rebirth,
Just like us.
Soft and seductive Selene,
Feminine and alluring,
In spite of her light’s chilly nature ~
Unlike her sister Sol,
Whose harsh light is blinding,
Selene is aglow ~
Heart-binding.
